Situated on the 4200 block of Piedmont Ave are Good Stock and Neighbor. Pop into Good Stock where you find lovely jewelry and accessory items to please the ladies on your list. Head next door to Neighbor, to then find an array of home decor, gift, and garden items. Make sure to step out back to visit the stocked shed occupied by Preserved, a specialty shop that offers all you could need for food preservation. These three options combined offer a fabulous one-stop shopping experience.
As you first head into Good Stock, keep an eye out for several options available from local Oakland artisans. Gorgeous jewelry is on hand from Oakland based designer Amy Morrell of watersandstone. You can also find great sunglasses from local company Costalots and unique pony hair slide sandals designed in Oakland by Roseli Illano. Beautiful offerings are also available from Oakland-based textile artist Jess Feury. In addition to local wares, you will find lovely selections of bags, pouches, jewelry, and skincare lines.
Once you are next door at Neighbor, you will be able to expand your gift search even further. Co-owned by Karen Anderson-Fort, Neighbor is the perfect spot to grab gorgeous textiles, home decor accents, kitchen wares, and gourmet pantry items. The store has an eclectic local vibe with a global accent. Vibrant colors come together on everything from amazing blankets to hanging plant baskets. More Oakland love is felt here in the form of offerings by local wilderness fragrance company Juniper Ridge, textiles by Jess Feury, and pantry items from local restaurant favorites such as Camino & Homestead.
As you head into the backyard, you will find more unique gift items for the garden lovers in your life. It’s hard to miss the welcoming shed at the back of the property, home of local food preservation expert Elizabeth Vecchiarelli’s shop, Preserved. Wide open and welcoming with everything you could ever need to give the gift of canning, pickling, brewing, and fermenting to the food lovers on your list.
